adidas Skateboarding Kader "Aurora Coffee" Drops Monday 11/16
Kader Sylla's first signature shoe gets its second colorway, and it's one Kader himself has been pushing for: coffee brown suede with metallic gold lace loops. If the first two drops were the intro, this one is the one you'll actually see on feet all winter.
The Idea Behind the Kader
Kader has never skated or dressed like everybody else, and the shoe is built the same way. Instead of starting from a current skate silhouette, he went into the adidas archive and pulled from old basketball and outdoor models, then stacked those structural details onto a mid-top that still puts skating first. It looks like nothing else on the wall, and that's the point.
This Colorway
Rich coffee brown suede across the whole upper. The lace loops are done in metallic gold with a small rosette detail, which is the kind of thing you'd expect from a dress shoe, not a skate shoe. The tongue has elastic wings on each side so it stays centered and your foot stays locked in, and the outsole gets gum inserts for grip and that classic skate look.
The Build
It's a cupsole with a full-length Lightmotion midsole, so you get real impact protection on big drops without the brick-like stiffness some cupsoles have. Adituff underlays are bonded under the suede in the high-flex spots, meaning the areas your ollies chew through first have a tough layer backing them up. It's a shoe you can wear for a long time, and one you can skate for a long time.
